Korea Annual Leave Calculator

Enter your hire date to calculate the number of annual leave days accrued to date. Add your daily ordinary wage to also estimate your annual leave pay.

This result assumes full attendance each month (under 1 year) or at least 80% attendance in the prior year (1 year or more). Actual accrued days may differ due to absences. Companies that grant annual leave on a fiscal-year basis (1 January each year) rather than by hire date use a different calculation method. Confirm your exact entitlement against your company's HR policy and attendance records.

Frequently asked questions

When does annual leave accrue, and how many days at a time?

During the first year of employment, 1 day accrues for each month of full attendance, up to a maximum of 11 days. Once you have completed 1 full year, you receive 15 days at once, provided you attended at least 80% of working days in the prior year.

How are bonus leave days calculated?

After 3 years of continuous service, 1 extra day is added to the 15-day base for every 2 additional years beyond the first. For example: 5 years = 15 + 2 = 17 days; 7 years = 15 + 3 = 18 days. Total annual leave including bonus days is capped at 25 days.

How is annual leave pay calculated?

Unused leave days × daily ordinary wage. The daily ordinary wage is typically calculated as (monthly ordinary wage ÷ 209 hours) × 8 hours, based on the terms of the employment contract, and may vary between companies.

What happens to unused leave when I resign?

Any unused annual leave at the time of resignation must be paid out as annual leave pay (unused leave compensation). Use this calculator to check your current accrued days, then combine it with the severance pay calculator.
